If you continue for 0.5 miles, you’ll come to a Martello Tower, one of a chain of 200-year-old fortifications that were built in the 19th century to defend the coast. If you’d like to see some spectacular wildlife, try Simpson’s Saltings (3 miles), a 60-acre salt marsh and nature reserve. Hollesley is the nearest spot for amenities, 2 miles from the property, or go to Melton (8 miles) for a station, cafe, pubs, spas and golf clubs.
