Description

The Old Brewery House in Orford dates back to the 16th century Tudor period which has left this self-catering cottage with gorgeous features and tonnes of character. A wealth of beams, a traditional wooden staircase, original floorboards, plaster pargeting and an inglenook fireplace merge together to create a charming home. With four bedrooms, the holiday cottage is ideal for up to eight guests along with two dogs should the party wish.

The generous living area is the perfect space for entertaining with its sumptuous sofas which surround the cosy wood burner and the separate dining area, ideal for dinner parties. There is a handy snug room, which is great for children and could provide the grownups with some peace and quiet. The fully equipped kitchen is there for you to cook up a storm if you decide to stay in. The famous Pinney’s of Orford and Pump Street Bakery are located just around the corner, and Orford has a fantastic general store where you can find the most essential items. Fresh fish is available from 'Brinkley's Shed' and Pinney's Shop is just beside the Quay. There is a butchers shop in Bakers Lane as well as the Village Stores in Front Street.

Outside the property is a pretty and rustic style garden with a view across the marshes towards Shingle Street. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with garden furniture and a barbeque, which on a warm summer’s day is just perfect for some alfresco dining.

Previous Customer,

Thank you for the use of your wonderful old house for our family christmas. We have history with this house. Great oven for cooking turkey and all the trimmings. There was more than enough of everything for 12 of us for our biggest gathering on Christmas Eve. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We have never done anything like this for Christmas before so the ba has been raised! The house is beautiful and fascinating. I loved the back lounge with the old books. Your attention to detail was not wasted. Happy New Year!
