Beach Yoga - Southwold Surf School 2018
which will run this summer. Classes start every Saturday morning at the school, located on Ferry Road, during July and August between 8am - 10am. Each and every student gets a sea-facing position with one of the best views Suffolk has to offer. Your yoga instructor will demonstrate what a calm relaxing beach yoga session should feel like and it all happens on the sunrise coast! Early riser classes start from 8am and later riser classes start at 9am, both running for 45 minutes. Classes are £5 per person.

Women On Wheels events are mass participation female-only bike rides, that put a strong focus on the fun, friendly and inclusive aspects of cycling, usually raising money for a local charity. They are aimed at non-cyclists and existing cyclists alike, with routes of an achievable distance, and are open to all ages. Various prices for routes. Under 12's go free. Somerleyton Hall & Gardens Tours
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday each week
Somerleyton Hall is home to the Crossley family and is considered one of the finest Tudor-Jacobean style architectural examples. This year you can take a tour of The Hall and The Gardens gardens from 10.00am until 5.00pm. Entrance to the hall is by tour only. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and run regularly from 11.30am until 3pm. Please note on Wednesday you can only tour The Gardens. Admission charges apply and ticket purchase permits guests to use the Kitchen Garden Café and Gift Shop.
The Red House Tours
Tuesday – Saturday each week
The Red House provides insight into the life and living of Britten and Pears’. You are now given the opportunity to tour the home by an informative tour guide. During the tour you can explore both floors of Britten and Pears’ home and see original interiors and personal effects sitting alongside stunning artworks collected by the pair throughout their lives. Each tour lasts approximately 40 minutes. Tour tickets cost £2.50 which is in addition to the admission charge of £5.
Euston Hall Live Outdoor Summer Concerts
5th, 6th, 7th July 2018
Euston Hall, the beautiful stately home at Thetford, near Bury St Edmunds is hosting a new series of three live, outdoor concerts with Summer House Sounds featuring Il Divo on Thursday 5th July; Tom Jones on 6th July and Madness on Saturday 7th July. Maverick Festival 2018
6th, 7th, 8th July
The Maverick Festival is a celebration of Americana and roots music from both sides of the Atlantic right here in Suffolk. This child and dog-friendly festival is set amongst the picturesque Victorian farm buildings of Easton Farm Park where artists mix with the spectators and the campsite is filled with impromptu jam sessions. The festival is an eclectic mix of music, comedy, dance, film & workshops across six stages indoors and out. Music begins on Friday at 5pm and runs until around 11:30pm, Saturday 11am-11:30pm and Sunday 10:30am-14:30pm.
Exotic Flower Crown Workshop

Dandelion and Bloom will help create your bespoke Crown with an exotic twist at Urban Jungle Suffolk in Beccles. Chose from forever faux flowers that will last a lifetime or fabulously fresh florals designed for a short-term, serious statement-piece, or you can even combine a mixture of the two styles. Each Crown will be a handmade, one-of-a-kind, using a mixture of carefully sourced tropical bright colours, traditional blooms and foliage. During the workshop, Dandelion and Bloom will help you get that festival look with beautiful facial glitter designs, using vegan, biodegradable and cruelty-free sparkles. Get into Shakespeare by the Sea with YOUNG THEATRE ON THE COAST

Two full days of magic, mystery, shipwrecks and fun. Work with an actor from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, with a musician and a costume and property maker. For ages 8 years to 18 years. ‘The End of the Line’ – from Patrick Marlowe THEATRE ON THE COAST

Patrick Marlowe is an East Anglian writer, actor and director whose career includes work for the National Theatre and more locally for Eastern Angles. He has written many new plays for the Frinton Summer Theatre stage, ‘The End of the Line’ premiered in 2011 and proved a smash hit.

Latitude Festival 2018

Fast becoming one of England’s favourite summer festivals, Latitude is returning to the beautiful Suffolk coastal area for its twelfth time. Outdoor Cinema at Kenton Hall Estate
Friday 13th - Saturday 14th July Enjoy watching some classic films in the beautiful grounds of Kenton Hall Estate. On Friday night, the hall will be screening The Italian Job, the British comedy crime classic starring Harry Kane, and on the Saturday Four Weddings and a Funeral, a beloved movie of comedy gold. Visit Felixstowe and enjoy the annual Felixstowe Carnival! Founded over 60 years ago, this fun affair will make way for live music, trade stands, family entertainment, competitions and fireworks. Don't miss the traditional procession which takes place on the Saturday from 1 pm from the top of Colneis Road into Beatrice Avenue.
Britten Youth String Orchestra
Saturday 21st July 2018 7pm
The Britten Youth String Orchestra from The Netherlands will perform a free evening concert of music for strings at St Bartholomew’s Church, Orford. The orchestra was founded in 2007 by their conductor, violinist and acclaimed conductor Loes Visser. Its aim is to provide a platform for talented young string players to develop their musical skills in an inspiring, high-level and musically demanding environment. Many progress on to further study at conservatoire level. For this concert they will perform a programme of beautiful music for strings by Warlock, Rachmaninov, Berlin, Grieg, Bloch and Shostakovich. Entrance is free, with a retiring collection towards the church. Free entry.
21st & 22nd July 2018
Back for another year is the ever popular Jimmy's Festival hosted by Jimmy's Farm in Wherstead. The festival is a celebration of live music, local produce and family fun. Running over two days, the venue is jam-packed with things to do and is a wonderful way to spend a summer weekend. Tickets are currently on sale via the Jimmy's Festival website.
‘A Bunch of Amateurs’ by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman THEATRE ON THE COAST
Run date: 23rd July – 3rd August
Fading Hollywood action hero, Jefferson Steele touches down in the UK to take on the role of a lifetime – Shakespeare’s tragic King Lear. Only this isn’t Stratford upon Avon, but Stratford St John in the middle of Suffolk, and his co-stars are not the famous names he expected but local amateurs who are fighting to save their beloved theatre from closure.
Ian Hislop (editor of Private Eye, star of BBCTV’s ‘Have I got News for You’) and cartoonist Nick Newman first wrote ‘A bunch of Amateurs’ as a film. The stage play is a little more recent and premiered at the Watermill, Newbury in 2014.

The Cherry Tree Inn Beer Festival 2018

The Cherry Tree Inn is an enchanting 17th Century Inn near the town centre of Woodbridge. This year they will be holding a beer festival on the 27th, 28th and 29th July 2018, with twenty real ales from across Great Britain, including Top Out of Edinburgh, Turpins of Cambridge, Black Tor of Devon, Signature of London, Old Spot of Yorkshire and of course, our local Adnams from Southwold. This year the festival will have some vegan beers and one gluten-free! The festival will run from 10:30-23:00. Suffolk Dog Day

From Westies to Bloodhounds, Poodles to Corgis, there's so much tail-waggingly good fun to be had at the annual Suffolk Dog Day. From grooming tips to sheepdog trials, puppy training to demonstrations, this fabulous event is simply pooch-heaven!
The Suffolk Dog Day is set against the magnificent backdrop of Suffolk’s beautiful Helmingham Hall Estate. Incorporating the historic moated 16th-century Helmingham Hall, a 400-acre deer park, walled kitchen garden and various picturesque gardens designed by Lady Xa Tollemache, the Suffolk Dog Day offers a fantastic day out for the whole family.
Refreshments are available onsite at The Coach House Tearooms.
29th July 2018
Beach Bonkers will be bringing a tableful of beach treasures, a portable beach and a giant beachcombing board game to National Trust Dunwich Heath & Beach. All activities are free although donations are welcome. There is a charge for car parking. If the day inspires you to find your own beachcombing treasures then join Beach Bonkers on a beachcombing walk or workshop. The event will take place from 11:00 - 15:00.

On the 29th July enjoy Blythburgh Day, a summery day of activities in the priory ruins, behind the village hall. From 11-30 till 5 the priory grounds will house a BBQ, licensed bar, live music, dog show, boat trips and children's activities.

A vibrant smorgasbord of music ranging from classical to folk, roots to jazz will feature at the ever-popular Snape Proms. Throw in an entertaining sprinkle of comedy, poetry and workshops and you've got a fantastic festival to suit all tastes (and ears!).

Debbie Isitt is now as well known for her hit comedy films ‘Nativity’ and ‘Confetti’. In this play from the 1990’s she paints a hilarious and gruesome picture of a deserted wife’s revenge on her ex-husband. Beccles Harvest Moon Music Festival

The market boasts a varied and interesting collection of 100 general and specialist dealers selling a wide range of antiques and collectables including furniture, silver, china, linen, jewellery, books, clocks, retro and vintage design and decorative items. Placed in the beautiful grounds of Glemhall Hall, Suffolk is FolkEast, a festival of folk and world music. Nominated for the Best Small Festival Award in the UK Festival Awards, FolkEast is a quirky, eclectic, and family-friendly festival - all set within the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
It was also included in BBC Radio Suffolk's "Ultimate list of 50 things during summer 2014".
18th & 19th August 2018
Dating back to pre-1900's, Beccles Carnival is an affordable family event with an aim of bringing the community together over two days of carnival fun. Located on Fen Lane Beccles Quay, you'll find the likes of area displays, a carnival parade, live music, stalls and much more. Entry price is £1 for adults and free for children. Aldeburgh Carnival 2018

Crowned the family tourism event of the year at the Norfolk and Suffolk Tourism awards, Aldeburgh Carnival is an amazing weekend packed full of stalls, processions, performances and fireworks. The firework display on Monday evening is particularly impressive and is enjoyed by carnival goers on Aldeburgh Beach. The carnival is also known for its lantern procession, which begins in the town square and ends on the beach. Get your lanterns ready and embark on this fun-filled weekend.
‘Hobson’s Choice’ by Harold Brighouse THEATRE ON THE COAST
