Close to the beach and with fantastic views over the marshes and sea, this welcoming period house is in a sought-after location within the unspoilt village of Dunwich. A beautifully decorated interior and a huge, enclosed garden make this an excellent choice for a family get-together or a holiday with friends, bringing three canine companions, too.
Generously sized rooms, brick flooring and exposed beams give this superb property heaps of character. The kitchen and adjoining utility room have all the facilities you’ll need for creating stress-free holiday meals, and the spacious dining room is a pleasure to eat in. Double doors lead to the gorgeous conservatory, which has comfortable seating and marsh views. On the ground floor there’s also an airy double bedroom and a separate bathroom. Via an open staircase, you’ll find the lounge on the first floor, with French doors that make the most of its marsh and sea views. This beautiful room has a vaulted ceiling, timber floor, TV and DVD. Three further bedrooms are on this floor: a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a twin (king-size on request) and a single which has a pull-out option to create a twin. These latter two rooms share a family shower room. As for outside space, children and pets will appreciate the enormous garden, which has a decked area with dining furniture and a BBQ, plus - great for energetic youngsters - an enclosed trampoline.
Dunwich was once a thriving medieval port but is now known as England’s ‘lost city’, and you can see the ruins of a medieval friary. It also has a pebble beach, a large nature reserve and a friendly pub that serves locally sourced food and even offers a special dog menu. For day trips, Southwold and Aldeburgh are both only 10 miles away.
