This traditional fisherman's cottage, located in the heart of Southwold, is ideal for couples, families, or friends looking for a quiet holiday. The real draw of the cottage is its location less than 300 metres from the sea and within sight of the lighthouse. Southwold is brimming with things to enjoy during your stay, including scenic walks to the harbour, relaxing on the sandy stretches of beach, walks on the prom, and days spent enjoying the bustling high street and quirky pier.

A lovely property set over two levels, offers you a warm welcome with elegant furnishings and thoughtful coastal-themed decor. On the ground floor is the open-plan living area. The lounge is a great social space with two comfortable sofas where you can sit and chat or watch the TV and boasts a striking ornamental fireplace. The separate galley kitchen has everything you need to prepare tasty meals and a view overlooking the garden and lighthouse beyond. The contemporary bathroom is on the ground floor with a roll-top bath. Cottage-style stairs take you to the king-size bedroom with a view of St James's Green and the sea, and there is a twin room with views of the lighthouse on this floor. The garden is a courtyard and is overlooked by the splendid lighthouse. It has a table and chairs so you can enjoy morning tea or coffee alfresco.

The Denes Beach is a half mile away and is popular with families and watersports enthusiasts as it is a great spot for swimming, canoeing, and windsurfing. Discover RSPB Minismere (11.5 miles) and enjoy exploring the coastal nature reserve, Wild Zone and Wild Wood Adventure. For a day away from the coast, head inland to the charming market town of Beccles (13 miles), walk by the river, or relax on a boat trip at the edge of the Broads.

We have come every year for about 20 years, and love the cottage. However, we had to report a problem with hot water - you came out v quickly, which was great. However, the plumber simply left a note saying that we had to turn the tap on a while for the hot water to come through. This was very annoying! We have almost exactly the same boiler at homRead moree. The problem was that the water came through hot after a moment or two, was hot very briefly, and then was freezing cold without ever warming up. We went without showering or bathing for three days. We love the cottage but it is quite expensive for something like this to happen. Hide
