Built in 1674 this delightful, picturesque property in the heart of the vibrant seaside town of Southwold is ideal for couples or families looking for a relaxing holiday less than 200 metres from the beach. The upper promenade is ideal for a peaceful stroll at any time of year, offering quick access to the beach, and the lighthouse is a famous landmark. The Common is also within easy reach, and a nearby footpath leads down to the harbour, where the pedestrian ferry takes you to Walberswick (summer only).

An attractive cottage set over two floors, its coastal theme invites you to relax and leave everyday worries at the door as soon as you enter. On the ground floor, there is a living room with a plush sofa where you can relax and enjoy good conversation or watch your favourite movies via the Smart TV. An electric fireplace provides cosiness in the cooler months. The well-maintained kitchen offers everything you need to prepare your favourite dishes, and a wet room completes the basement. A narrow staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find two bedrooms: one double and one twin. Outside, you can enjoy the courtyard garden with furniture and a BBQ, which is ideal for al fresco dining on sunny evenings.

If you can tear yourself away from all that Southwold has to offer, there are plenty of other attractions to enjoy. Head to the Southwold Maize Maze, where you can enjoy the zip wire, go-karting and, of course, the maze. Benacre National Nature Reserve (5.5 miles) includes the reed beds and lagoons of Benacre, Covehithe and Easton Broads and is on the route of a major walking trail, the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Path. Walkers can join the coastal path at Southwold for a lovely walk to Covehithe Beach (10.5-mile circular walk).

An excellent property which is rather compact so if 4 adults stayed there you would need to be good friends! Central location so its great for shops, pubs and the beach. Private patio and bbq out the back which we made full use of. Happy to recommend it.

We have spent a wonderful week in a beautiful cottage, weather perfect, gardens a delight. We had a few problems at the beginning of the week - ie shower in the Stable, TV in the lounge and key to the back door missing. However, Suffolk Secrets and their local team responded immediately and resolved them...Southwold [is] the perfect seaside place. The cottage is ideally suited being very close to the sea, the shops and on a dead-end street. We had a fabulous time. The cottage is well laid out and very comfortable for two adults and two children. The equipment mostly functioned but we could not find the remote for the fire, and couldn't turn it on. Someone came and sorted it for us and thenRead more it was fine. We couldn't get the tv in the bedroom to work which wasn't really an issue for us but might be for others. The information about the Internet was not for the right router which took us a while to work out. One of the pans didn't seem to work on the induction hob. Other than those specific things, everything thing worked well. Great to have access to a garage just round the corner. And the use of the washing machine and dryer. The doors to the house all locked easily although I had a bit of trouble with the one to the shed. The extra thought of using Suffolk products such as tea, coffee and apple juice was much appreciated. Hide

This is a very comfortable cottage within easy reach of all local amenities, enclosed garden was a bonus and the private parking is always welcomed in such a busy and popular resort. Location is key, literally a stones throw from shops, pubs and sea front. Cottage has everything you need, it really is home from home.

Great location for beach and the high street. Experienced no noise from the Nelson even at night. Cottage very comfortable and well equipped with excellent WiFi. Slightly expensive but reflects the Southwold premium.
