One of our most popular cottages. Whisk away your loved ones to the charming seaside town of Southwold for a stay in this traditional and homely 300-year-old fisherman’s cottage. Spend quality time with your small family or other half plus two canine companions while relaxing in the comfortable and welcoming living room with an open fire and enjoy lazy beach days, seafood dinners at the local restaurants and nature walks in the nearby reserves.
Step inside this cottage painted in traditional Suffolk black to find a cosy open-plan living area with wooden furnishings, an exposed brick fireplace with an open fire and comfortable seating in front of the TV and patio doors. Continue into the farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden worktops and soft neutral tones. There is also a cloakroom with a WC on the ground floor. Climb the cottage-style stairs to reach the first floor with a family bathroom plus two bedrooms – a double and a twin. Outside is a small paved garden with seating.
During your stay in Southwold, an array of canine-welcoming restaurants, plus some independent shops and historical landmarks, like the Southwold Cannons and Southwold Lighthouse are all within 0.5 miles. Head to the sandy Southwold Beach (less than 200 metres) for a dip in the sea – four-legged friends are welcome from October to March. If you’re visiting in the summer months, the expansive Dunwich Beach (9 miles) is canine-friendly all year round. RSPB Minsmere is 11.5 miles away and is excellent for bird watching and woodland walks – plus it also has a tea room. If you’re a history enthusiast, the 14th-century Leiston Abbey ruins are 13 miles away.
