Take a holiday with your family in Orford. This charming cottage is perfect for a small group and their dog to use as a base whilst exploring the wider area. There are lots of outdoor activities to try, places to explore and interesting things to sniff.
As you enter the property, you’ll find a spacious living area. The lounge is wonderfully cosy with a wood burner and comfortable sofas, and is open-plan with the kitchen/diner. There are French doors on the far side which lead to the garden and bathe the area in natural light. The compact kitchen has everything you’ll need for cooking up feasts or packing picnics. Head up to the first floor for the bedrooms. There’s one single and one King Size; both have Victorian feature fireplaces and are calming, restful rooms where you can fall asleep easily. You’ll also see a family bathroom. This cottage has a small patio garden in the back, full of flowers and finished with a table and chairs for morning cups of coffee in the sunshine. The converted bakehouse offers storage for bikes and prams.
Orford is a wonderful spot with a lot to offer. There’s plenty for visitors, but everything still feels authentic and pleasant. Make sure you have a meal at one of the local restaurants – the fish is amazing, and so fresh! Alternatively, stop in at the bakers or relax with a drink in the pub. The village was built around the castle, and it’s still standing and worth a visit. Plus, it’s only 200 metres from your lodgings. There are lots of wetlands and marshes around, but if you’d like a day on the beach, pack your suncream and go to Aldeburgh (11 miles) for that gorgeous sea air.
