This magnificent retreat offers flexible sleeping arrangements for up to eight adults and six children. In the heart of vibrant Southwold, it combines impressive architecture with gorgeous furnishings, and has a sun-trap courtyard for al fresco dining.
The house is set over two storeys and has two wings, with two king-size bedrooms (which can be family rooms) and two twins. The huge kitchen/diner is on the west wing of the ground floor, with a lovely snug adjacent. This boasts a Smart TV and DVD for film nights, plus two single sofa beds. Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the main lounge/diner, with a beamed, vaulted ceiling and a brick chimney. Here you can dine more formally or get comfortable watching the Smart TV. On this level there’s also a gorgeous king-size bedroom, which boasts an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower. Another staircase leads down to the ground floor of the east wing. Here there’s a twin bedroom, with a futon for an additional guest. Via a lobby, you’ll find a family shower room, utility area, and access to the annexe. This has a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and open access to a further staircase up to a twin bedroom. From the kitchen/diner, you can step straight out into the split-level courtyard garden. There is also an undercover storage area for bikes and beach gear.
There’s much to do in delightful Southwold. Stroll out of the cottage and browse the shops, cafes and restaurants in the town centre, head to the beach for a paddle and an ice cream, or take a tour of the Adnam’s brewery or the town’s iconic lighthouse. You could visit the popular lifeboat museum or stroll along the pier and have a go on the wacky slot machines.
