This lovely holiday cottage in Friston is the perfect place to explore Suffolk’s countryside. Located in a peaceful village, with a charming local pub nearby, the two-bedroom home provides a cosy getaway for couples or small families. When you’re not exploring the great outdoors, you can be curled up beside the crackling wood burner inside or enjoying a sizzling BBQ feast in the garden beneath the walnut tree.

Make yourselves at home in the cottage's lounge, with its warm and inviting wood burner, the ideal spot for the whole family to relax. The ground floor also features a spacious kitchen/diner with everything needed to self-cater during your stay as well as a table seating four. There is also a separate WC. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms; a romantic double room for two, and a twin room with a low, sloping ceiling. Both bedrooms lead to the beautiful family bathroom. Step outside and be met with an enchanting rear garden. It's an enclosed, sheltered paradise, with a walnut tree, outdoor furniture and a BBQ – the perfect spot to enjoy al fresco dining in the warm summer evenings.

If you are looking for a day at the beach, the small seaside town of Aldeburgh is just 4 miles away. Here, you can enjoy a day of sunbathing and relaxing beside the fishing boats, before exploring the galleries and shops. Located 2 miles south of here, Snape will satisfy any music fan, with its Maltings concert hall hosting some of the world's most renowned musicians. And just 5 miles away lies Thorpeness, a holiday village developed in the 1920s that is often referred to as a hidden gem. Thanks to its golf course, country club and a beach hut-lined sweep of sand, it never fails to keep visitors happy.

No 1 is an easy to live in cottage in a great location behind the Old Chequers pub and minutes from Aldeburgh and Snape and close access to the main road. The heating was super efficient and easy to use with plenty of hot water. The wifi works really well and so does the TV with Netflix etc. Really enjoyed our stay/

The cottage is located in a very pleasant village and is next door to the very good local pub serving excellent food. The beautiful town of Aldeburgh is only 5 miles away and there are also many other attractions locally to visit. The facilities in the cottage let it down to a degree and I would hope that the owner takes note of our feedback.

1 Chequers Row in Friston is a comfortable and relaxing holiday cottage with an enclosed dog friendly garden. There is also good private parking with allocated spaces near the property with room to stop directly outside, ideal for unloading... The village pub offers excellent food and is highly recommended! There are several marked footpaths arounRead mored the village which are great for dog walking. Saxmundham has two large supermarkets, nearby Aldeburgh is absolutely charming as is Southwold. So many other lovely places to visit and we (dog included) look forward to staying again. Hide
