With its landscaped garden and lawn and stylish interiors, this detached holiday home at the end of a private road with no passing traffic offers considerable privacy and is a brilliant base for Aldeburgh adventures. Positioned on a quiet development less than half a mile from the town’s iconic seaside Scallop, a stay here offers you the chance to stay out of the busy town centre yet enjoy the amenities nearby. The property itself is a sprawling four-bed laid out over three storeys, happily hosting up to eight guests and ideal for any family get-together or larger reunion of friends. It’s also been thoughtfully fitted with some great eco-credentials including solar hot water heating, perfect for those sustainability-focused guests.

Separated by an archway and double doors, you can effortlessly flow between the lounge, kitchen and diner on the sociable ground floor. The kitchen is any chef’s dream complete with a Range cooker and ample amounts of worktop space. Dinners can be served either in the spacious dining room or out in the enclosed garden with patio furniture for mealtimes or evening drinks. You can then curl up in the lounge, lighting a warming, atmospheric fire in the wood burner. Pass by a handy downstairs WC and a utility room as you head upstairs. Find four large bedrooms laid out over the first and second floors, three of which boast en-suites, the fourth is served by separate family bathroom.

The vast shingle shores of Aldeburgh Beach with its traditional fishermen’s huts is less than half a mile away, with the Georgian high street and popular town centre only a 10 minute walk away. On a rainy day, take a trip to the town’s independent cinema or visit the Aldeburgh Museum before grabbing a portion of fresh fish and chips. Come rain or shine, discover plenty of nearby pathways for exploring the wider Suffolk countryside, including the marshes on the outskirts of town (1 mile).

The house was great. Really well located for beach, town and walking to local supermarkets and Thorpeness. Unfortunately the information on website and in emails is a little outdated. It mentioned there was a garage that could be used to store bikes in and the like. Unfortunately and understandably, once arrived, it made reference in the house filRead moree that the garage is now locked out of use due to repeat previous renters not locking the door correctly. We worked around it, by storing the bikes in our cars, but it would be tricky potentially for future renters with adult size bikes without knowing before arrival. Also we were unable to find the highchair or bbq, which I assume are locked in there too. However we worked around these issues. Hide
