This delightful house is close to both the beach and the high street in fashionable Aldeburgh. Blending charming period features with modern amenities, it has a big garden that’s perfect for children or a pet, making it a great getaway for families or groups of friends wanting to relax by the seaside.

This 17th century property has been renovated to a high standard to combine exposed beams and brickwork with high-quality modern furnishings. There’s plenty of space for everyone to chill out, perhaps in front of the flame-effect gas fire in the lounge - listening to music, playing games or enjoying a show on the Smart TV, or in the gorgeous conservatory, with its wicker-style furniture (a great place to enjoy a book). The large kitchen has everything you’ll need for putting together holiday meals, and there’s a separate dining room with a table and chairs for six. All three delightful bedrooms are on the first floor: two doubles (one with an en-suite shower room) and a single, plus a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. On a warm summer’s evening there’s nowhere nicer than the garden, which is fully enclosed and has a huge lawn.

Aldeburgh is set at the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds downstream to Orford and upstream to Snape Maltings (6 miles by car), where converted Victorian buildings house shops, galleries and places to eat, as well as an internationally renowned concert hall. In Aldeburgh’s wide high street, Georgian buildings are home to a variety of independent shops, galleries and restaurants, and it’s also worth visiting the 16th century Moot Hall. For a fascinating day out, the 1920s village of Thorpeness is just 2 miles away.

We found this cottage warm, comfortable and quiet, with thought having been put into equipment, facilities and furnishings. Equipment/heating are simple to use - a bonus! It's in a great position in Aldeburgh, with lots of excellent walks/runs for people/dogs, as well as shops and eating places. Thank you for a great stay over New Year.

Very happy with everything regarding the cottage. Parking could cause issues as once you are parked up you may get blocked by neighbours. Not their fault it is more that these are old properties and not designed to accommodate cars ..

The kitchen windows needed a jolly good clean, and generally the property was very cobwebby. Some towels would also benefit from being replaced.

Hi, we found the cottage to be just good for access for walking sightseeing and local restaurants, Not enough time to squeeze everything we would liked to seen and done, so on that little note we will see you soon. Many thanks George and Linda.

Lovely cottage in ideal location. Have stayed twice. This time there was an issue with the heating (too much heat) and have left details in the maintenance book.

we found the cottage extremely comfortable and very well equipped. the only thing missing was instructions to the kitchen equipment, i.e. the dishwasher and the oven. it would also have been very helpful to know when the recycling was to be collected. we missed the bin collection as there was no information for that in the cottage that we could Read morefind. Otherwise, we had a lovely break and have rebooked for next year. Hide
