Description

The guests will enter Gun Lodge via the entrance hall. You never know what the English weather is going to do, so if you happen to get caught in a shower, the property has a great storage area where soggy coats and boots can be taken off before heading to the cosy upper floors of the holiday cottage. If there are any musically gifted members in the group, they can keep the rest of the party entertained with Gun Lodge’s very own piano. A study can be found on the ground floor with games and a television, a great area for kids to get some alone time.

Set over three floors, Gun Lodge comfortably fits six guests and up to three dogs. The large open plan kitchen, dining room and living area is the hub of the holiday home offering a fantastic space where families and groups can enjoy quality time together. The high-quality furnishings provide comfortable resting spots and the large dining table is the perfect place to enjoy meals together. The fully equipped kitchen provides a great self-catering area and a modern breakfast bar, where cookers and eaters can enjoy conversing. On the same floor, the luxurious master bedroom boasts a king sized bed, television with integrated DVD player, sea views and an en-suite bathroom.

On the second floor, the other two bedrooms can be found, both offering sea views. Bedroom number three has two pull out beds along with the comfortable twin beds should some extra sleeping room be required. Shower rooms can be found on the ground and second floor preventing those pesky shower queues in the morning. Gun Lodge has not one but two excellent perks. The first is the parking spaces for up to three cars and the second is the private garden complete with garden furniture and a bbq. Located in the iconic Suffolk coastal town of Aldeburgh, Gun Lodge is a fantastic base where holiday makers can enjoy being in a wonderful location, knowing that they’ll come home to a spacious, social and comfortable holiday home. Aldeburgh is situated at the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds its way to Orford down- stream and up-stream to Snape Maltings, home of the internationally famous Aldeburgh Music Festival. Thorpeness, just a couple of miles north along the beach, has its own special seaside character. In Aldeburgh fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from their picturesque huts. The high street has a classy air with mostly independent shops mixed in with a nice variety of eating places. There are also several good hotels overlooking the sea, ideal for a leisurely lunch or evening meal. There is an interesting old and very well equipped cinema which shows the latest films and occasional festivals eg the highly regarded annual Aldeburgh Documentary Film Festival. There is always lots to do in Aldeburgh while a radius of 10 miles inland will bring you to the fabulous natural riches of the East Anglian countryside and coastal area - and plenty of excellent pubs.
